Nepal Country Manager

Phurpa Lama is a young climate activist in Nepal and has a more than 7 years of experience in the field of Climate change issues. He began his career in Denmark after he has been selected to come2gether Climate Ambassador Conference 2009. He has designed and delivered various no of training on Climate change and REDD + issues to different NGOs, Indigenous Peoples organizations, Schools and Colleges in Nepal with the aim to raise awarenss about global impact and solutions to climate change and helping communities to discover the fact about the climate crisis  and take meaningful steps to bring about change. He was personally trained by Mr. Al Gore Former Vice President of USA and winner of Nobel laureates in the year 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey. He also had served as a mentor during Climate Reality Leadership Training held in New Delhi, India earlier this year and recently in Florida, USA.

In 2015, focusing on transforming energy system he has also initiated grassroots movement called Light up a Life for a Better Nepal  bringing solar power from home to homes and village to villages  across the region that have no access to electricity aiming to cut off traditional fossil fuel based lighting system. He has already deployed 2kw of solar lighting system in remote villages of Nepal through his campaign for sustainable and healthy planet. He believes that clean energy revolution is the best solution in fight against climate crisis.

Phurpa Lama is currently engaged at The Climate Reality Project as a Nepal country Manager aiming to reveal fact about global impact of climate change and   empowering   Nepalese communities to solve climate crisis.
